BEAN PLANTING

Broad beans are often sown in October, but it is a good plan to follow up with a second sowing in January to ensure' a continuation of the crop. Beans are sown in double rows, leaving 'three feet between one pair of rows •and the next. Plant them six inches apart in line and allow nine inches betwee the first and second line.
