We understand that Mr. Ludlow, Chief Registrar of Friendly Societies,
has resigned his functions, on the ground of age. It is to be hoped that his place will be filled by the appointment of the Assistant-Registrar for England, Mr. Brabrook, whose long services and well-known abilities render him not only the best but the only fitting candidate for the vacancy, which is a much more important one than the public readily perceive.
