We cannot agree with Mr. Collingwood Hughes . when he

writes in Bets and the Betting Tax (Drano, 7s. 6d.) that the Chancellor _of the Exchequer has made " a political blunder of the first magnitude " (oh, these clichés !) in passing the Betting Tax. It is as unjust as it is foolish to say that the fortunes of the Conservative Party are not likely to cause Mr. Churchill " the least .concern." -However, this book :is the work of an expert and full of useful information.
