Novel Award

SIR.--We are offering £1,000 on account of sub- sequent royalties for a novel of literary merit, in the hope of establishing the career of one serious writer. Associated with my firm in this award, which will be simultaneously announced throughout the Commonwealth, are Mayflower Books for paper- back rights, and Chilton Books for US publication. Whilst preference will be given to an unpublished writer, authors of previous books arc eligible.

The award will be open from June I to Decem- ber 31. 1965. All manuscripts must be typewritten, accompanied by a stamped return label, and marked Anglo! American Book Award, to be sent to Peter Owen Ltd., 12 Kendrick Mews, Kendrick Place, London, SW7.
