author undertook in 1847 to arrange the MSS. in the mnniment-room of the borough of Leicester, and in the course of his labour of love he collected all the entries relating to the drama and other amusements. To these he has pre fixedlan essay full of curious information on these subjects, but interesting rather to the antiquary than the general reader. An interesting old map of Leicester in 1610 is prefixed.
