[To the Editor of THE SPECTATOR.] Sw,—There appear to be

one or two misprints in the article on p. 303 of your last issue.

In the third paragraph a reaction period is given as 140/000 second. Does this mean 14o thousandths? If so, in an article for general reading, should it not be written 140/1000, or in full, or better, " fourteen hundredths of a second " ?

Secondly, is there an accidental reversal of these figures, as 140 is less than 180 ? L. BAINBRIDGE BELL.
