What is the election going to be about? The cost of living? Rhodesia? Mr. Wilson? If that extraordinary fringe lobby, the anti-fluorida- tionists, have their way. it will be about none of these: instead, the man who walks into No. 10 Downing Street on All Fools' Day will have earned his passage by his attitude to that burn- ing issue of our time, the fluoridation of drink- ing. water. Already the antis have circularised candidates with a workmanlike message headed 'General Election —the Voter's Veto,' which dc dares: ,'There are certain human rights which are fundamental; when these are threatened, their protection should take precedence over all other political matters. The adding to public water supplies of a substance intended to affect the human body without the consent and contrary to the wishes of some consumers is a violation of such a right.'
