"Daily News Year Book."
DEAR MADAM,—I understood from your letter, asking me to contri- bute a short statement of my views of the National Insurance Bill as it may affect the Poor Law, that your desire was to collect together the candid opinions of workers in the Poor Law field for the " Year Book." I now see that you only want such opinions as coincide with those of the Daily News. It would have been better to say so at once, as, not being a hack political newspaper writer, I should have been spared the trouble of complying with your request.—I am, yours faithfully,
To the Editor,
The "Daily News Year Book." (Signed) W. CHANCE.
