The new Cabinet appointments have failed to evoke much comment,

hostile or otherwise. It is strange, however, that, up to the time of writing, the Government's critics have had nothing to say about the selection of a peer to be First Lord of the Admiralty. In the past they have jealously insisted that the heads of the great spending departments should be in the Commons.
