SPItiNG'S DATE
It is reckoned that this spring is a fortnight later than the normal. But it makes good very rapidly. The first migrant birds began to appear in numbers this week, and favourable spinneys have a carpet of primroses and Lent lilies even to the north of LOndon. Within a few days the great change will come with the bursting of the leaf-buds on the quick hedges.
