GENERAL MINING PROFITS.
The big finance corporations of South Africa are now producing very excellent reports showing the results following upon the improved position in the mining industry. In the case of the General Mining and Finance Corporation the profits for the year amounted to £371,892 as compared with £363,354 in the previous year, and after paying the dividend at 20 per cent. the directors were able to place 1100,000 to the General Reserve, while it is shown that the dividends are amply covered by earnings, and that the profit for the year was equivalent to 29.4 per cent, on the Corporation's issued capital.
