Admiral Lyons arrived in London on Thursday night, by the

South- Eastern Railway. Yesterday morning at an early hour he had an inter- view with Sir Charles Wood at the Admiralty ; after which he proceeded to the War Office, and had an audience with the Duke of Cambridge, Lord Hardinge, and Lord Panmure.

A very needless wonderment has been made of the fact that Admiral Richard Dundas has been ordered to take down his flag. It has been talked about as if the Admiral had undergone a disgrace; but it must have been the same with a Sidney Smith or a Nelson. Admiral Dundas was commander of the fleet; during the winter all the ships composing the fleet have necessarily been withdrawn from their station, and they are now dispersed in many harbours at home, and some abroad; there is therefore no fleet, and there cannot be a commander of the fleet. Voila tout.
