On Wednesday the Minister of Labour appointed a Court of
Inquiry to investigate the causes and circum- stances of the building trade dispute. The employers accordingly agreed to postpone their lock-out notices for a week. But the men's leaders have determined upon a stoppage of work on Saturday unless there is an immediate advance of wages. Thus once again the men seem to have put themselves hopelessly in the wrong.
