Sta,—Your correspondent " Motorist " to my mind misses one
great point about the continued petrol restrictions, which is that it is making us into a most immoral nation. All motorists know that there is plenty of petrol, and for this reason make no bones about obtaining it, as there is now no question of men's lives or loss of shipping to restrain them. All know that Britain can produce all the petrol we need in our own pos- sessions, so that dollars only enter into it as far as chartering American tankers is concerned.
