Poland and the Polish. Question is the title of a

volume by Mr. Ninian Hill (George Allen and Unwin, 10s. 6d. net). He gives a sketch of Polish history, a brief account of Poland as it was before the war, and a chapter of speculations upon its future. Mr. Hill has no very intimate personal knowledge of this unfortunate country, but he writes about it with sym- pathy, and his book will be useful if it interests others in the Polish problem.
