The Irish Tales possess Irish humour ; but, as the

author seems to be aware, they are better adapted for telling than reading. The two political satires in verse, the Modern Hudi bras and Fitz .sop's Fables, are both total failures. We should be greatly puzzled to produce a single good line from either.
