Letters from Constantinople mention, that there was great re- joicing

among the Turks in consequence of the failure of the French expedition against Constantine ; and that solemn thanks had been offered in the mosques to Allah for burying the invaders in the snow. The number of persons who have died in Turkey of the plague, within six months, is estimated at 100,000.
