`Tire Reverend Sir H. Rivers, Baronet, was sentenced to a

fine of 10/. at the Worcester Assizes, on Monday, for kicking and beating a boy syho was bathing in the liver near to the place where the reverend baronet was fishing. The excuse was, that the boy ran by Miss Rivers

when he was naked ; but it appearrld that he ran that way to escape from the ansry parson, who did not like his fishing sport to be spoiled. On Wednesday forenoon, as some labourers were digging in a field belonging to Mr. Samuel Forster, of Southend, near Lee isham, they discovered two old blue china jars, in which were about eight hundred and fifty gold coins of the reign of Charles the First, value about 1000/, which they' immediately took to their master. The lord of the manor, the Earl of Dartmouth, it is supposed will claim them.

An iron bridge, recently thrown over a canal, at King's Langley, in Hertfordshire, > uddenly gave way, on Monday morning, fell upon the engineer, and killed him on the spot. Six men were thrown into the canal: drags were immediately obtained, and the men were taken out of the water turd conveyed to the infirmary, four of them not ex- pected to live.
