COUNTRY LIFE

May !

The date suggests two pleasurable duties. One is to visit the fruit orchard country, Worcestershire perhaps above other districts ; the other to visit the Lincolnshire bulb fields, where the tulips, especially the Darwins, are reaching their best. South Lincolnshire, not least in the Holbeach and Spalding districts, has become a real rival to Haarlem and other Dutch bulb farms. It is a very floriferous year for most fruits, and the apples will b& at their best next week, though the cider apples for the most part still delay.
