Sir: It is comforting to know that Dr Winston (Letters,

28 April) believes that the pro-life movement considers that the destruction of the human embryo results in the destruction of human babies, i.e. hu- man life. A little of their message must be filtering through to him.

The benefits of human embryo research are irrelevant. Nothing justifies putting a soul under a microscope.
