SIR.—In last week's Spectator, by some oddity of proof correction,

I say the opposite of what I meant. I mildly criticised Mr. Alistair Home for describing French field artillery as 'brass': it was bronze, like the Austrian artillery in 1914. This criticism is re- versed in my review.
