This week the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals takes a poll of its members on the " hunting of wild deer with hounds." We congratulate the Chairman and Council of the R.S.P.C.A. on their decision to ascertain the views of their members on stag hunting, and we hope that the voting will be against its continuance. We are sometimes taxed with incon- sistency in oppOsing stag hunting and refusing to attack the continuance of fok hunting. Our critics are probably right in their logic ; nevertheless we stand firm in our inconsistency. We shall welconie the day when stag hunting is abolished.
