Sir: Is there some way in which you could persuade the excellent Peter Phillips to look after Christopher Edwards for a bit? The choral music opening Bristol Old Vic's Richard II was not what Mr Edwards (Theatre, 23 February) vaguely describes as 'a plainsong chant', but a passage from Thomas Tallis's 40-part motet `Spem in Alium'. Anachronistic, but sublime.
