On Wednesday Sir Robert Horne announced that the Cabinet bad

decided to appoint a Committee of Business Men to advise the Government on reducing expenditure and improving our financial position. Sir Eric Geddes, who is leaving the Ministry of Transport, is to be the chairman. The committee will sit in private. It will not decide matters of policy, but may say what policies may cost !
