The Harvest Fields. Illustrated by Ernest Wilson. (Hlldes- heimer and

Faulkner.)—This is a volume of poetical extracts, bearing on summer and harvest. Thomson, Longfellow, and Crabbe are the chief names among the poets laid under contribu- tion. There are others less familiar. The illustrations, some of which have the appearance of being taken from photographs, vary in merit. We like, on the whole, the initials and tail-pieces best ; but some of the larger efforts are fairly successful.
