The Allies' reply to what people are now beginning to

see was a not unfriendly, and therefore perfectly legitimate, question by Mr. Wilson will be published at the end of this. week. It will, we trust,* give -further enlightenment in regard to the conditions upon which peace will ultimately be made. We hazard the guess that, though the reply will not be as detailed, it will be in substance not unlike the ••statement as to the conditions- which we ventured to set forth last week.
