SKI-ING TURNS. By Vivian Caulfeld. (Nisbet. 8s. 6d. net.)
A detailed description of an important branch of ski-ing technique that will appeal to the expert as well as instruct the learner. Turns are used sparingly, as the good skier always aims at making a bee-line down lull ; but a knowledge of the various lift-turns and skid-turns and of the snow- surfaces on which to use them is essential to cross-country running. The book also contains a number of loose cards with illustrations and brief descriptions of the turns. These cards can be carried in the pocket and are admirable for outdoor practice.
