Whenever I hear the B.B.C. announcer reading some news item

to the effect that " Gandhi " has done this, or that somebody has said that about" Gandhi " I wonder whether the omission of the "Mr. " is a matter of settled policy. All the daily papers, so far as I know, and certainly all Ministers of the Crown, are content to refer to the Indian leader as Mr. Gandhi and I cannot think the B.B.C. is very happily inspired in discarding the habit.
