Grace of Glenhohne. Three vols. By William Platt, Author of

"Betty Westminster," &c. (Newby.)—Grace of Glenholme is a young

lady who was found, when an infant, in a basket in the river Wye, and.

whose parentage is supposed to be concealed from the reader until he has shown himself to be possessed of perseverance enough to arrive at

the end of the third volume. Her story can scarcely be called a very interesting one ; and it is told in a style so resolutely common-place as occasionally almost to border upon vulgarity. The book is, however, quite free from the fatal vice of fine writing ; and it is, on the whole, by no means the worst novel that Mr. Newby has published within the last twelve months.
