Mr. Lowe has had a thousand pounds' worth of his
halfpenny stamps for match-boxes struck in anticipation of sanction, and now he does not know what to do with them. The Daily News suggests that he should sell them by auction to the stamp collectors, -who would give much more than their value ; but if that is too humiliating, another course might be adopted. Let the Treasury order the Post Office to receive them as newspaper stamps. Then indeed their motto, "'Ex luce lucellum," would be fully justified in -the eyes of everybody, except perhaps Mr. Miall.
