WORLD AUXILIARY INSURANCE

Several insurance chairmen have emphasised the fact that while the marine market has been improved as regards hull insurance, there is still a lack of cooperation on questions of cargo insurance. This point was further emphasised last week by Captain the Rt. Hon. C. C. Graig, chairman of the World Auxiliary Insurance Corporation. In certain trades he said the rates were insufficient to pay even the claims arising from small losses and there was definitely no reserve for major casualties. He anticipated, however, that the company's 1936 marine account would show a reasonable profit in spite of higher claims 'than in previous years.
