I'm glad to see that the Irish Senator Paddy McGrath has been reading Peregrinations. A few months ago I said that as his company, Waterford Glass, was sponsoring several races at Goodwood this summer, he should present a piece to Goodwood House because it was the one big thing Lord March didn't have in his stately home near Chichester. Now I'm happy to report that Senator McGrath has visited Goodwood and handed over a twelve-inch fruit bowl. And Lord March has rung me to thank me for suggesting it, "I'm very grateful. You've given me ideas for other sponsors."
