Brunt of suffering
Sir: Much of the argument regarding South Africa can be swept away by one fact. The ANC and their supporters and the UDF bear the brunt of the suffering in South Africa. If they, who are suffering, regard sanctions as a necessary weapon how can we, who are not yet suffering, say no?
Is the potential unemployment of one person in Britain really of more import- ance than the potential death of one more South African? HMG should have learned from Rhodesia that the longer action is deferred, the greater will be the suffering. Judith Todd
