LETTERS Dirty tactics
Sir: I do not know Audrey Parry who wrote to you (16 August) about the wicked Liberals in Surbiton, nor do I know the Liberals there, but I warmly admire them if, as Ms Parry says, they have reduced the local Labour Party to sulking impotence.
If Ms Parry and other Southern inno- cents want to see 'dirty tactics' and physical intimidation in full fig, then I suggest that she and her fastidious friends come up here to Merseyside for the Knowsley North by-election. There they can witness for themselves Labour yobs and bullies at their full and terrifying best.
We in the Liberal Party are now suffi- ciently experienced to know that the old Tory/Labour joint propaganda machine is now operating at full steam. They both realise that the 'wasted vote' scare no longer works so they now jointly resort to alleging 'dirty tactics'.
I promise Ms Parry and her Tory or Labour masters that if they stop telling lies about the Alliance we will stop telling the truth about them.
