TEE rabbit by the pool Communing with his need, The bear-moss on a knoll, The briar's scarlet seed,
The asters' withered stems, The sparrows' wandering choir, The mighty maple maimed By filament and fire, A furrow where a tooth Rode red across the brown Inscribe the ruined roof That rain and frost tear down.
