IRA bombings
From Dr R. K. Edwards Sir: The terrible IRA bomb attack in Birmingham with its horrible carnage, perhaps, at long last, has brought home to this nation just what the word terrorism means.
Not since the barbarity of the Middle Ages have innocent, helpless humans' been subjected to such wicked, gruesome mutilation. We can now realise just what my brother Jews of Israel have, endured at the hands of the murderer Arafat and his Palestine Liberation Organisation. Only five days ago, his agents brutally shot a man and woman in their bed, and blew off the head of a defenceless old Jewish woman. Six short months ago, twenty-eight young Israeli children were blown to smithereens on the orders of this arch-criminal, who now is feted as a hero, and as an apostle of peace (with gun at the hip) in the corrupt United Nations.
It was in the schools of the Palestinian terror camps in Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Syria and Algeria (whose foreign minister is now President of the UN!) that the IRA has been taught its dirty business.
It is the Arab Ghadaffi of Libya, who pours money — our money — extorted and squeezed from our shaking economy by the Arab oil blackmailers — into the war chest of the IRA to supply it with the tools of its trade.
Israel may be a 'little country far away,' but the values of civilised conduct and Western morality that she daily struggles to maintain against the most dreadful odds are exactly those upon which the bedrock of Western civilisation, as we know it, is founded.
• If this war for survival of our most cherished values of human conduct, and of life itself, is to be fought successfully, then not only the IRA, but the philosophers and architects of this latest Arab contribution to mankind — the Arab terrorists of the PLO, Black September, PDFLB, and all their splinter groups, and those who harbour, succour, comfort, arm, train, shield and shelter them must be destroyed or isolated froth the community of civilised man.
The great Jewish-Christian enduring values that elevate man into 'the image of Pod,' are under ferocious attack. Let us defend ourselves and them with courage and resolution! At the same time we must in our own interests strengthen, arm and support in every possible way, tiny Israel in her valiant battle against the same evil which we now fight! We will thus strike at the very strategic root of the IRA.
