Not everyone's happy
Sir: In his article about Peter McKay's departure from Punch (Media studies, 30 November), Stephen Glover states that, 'The marvellous thing is that everyone seems much happier, Mr McKay most of all.' I very much hope he is right about Mr McKay's state of mind. But how can he claim to know what 'everyone' is feeling?
I have been involved with Punch, albeit in a somewhat peripheral way, since its relaunch, and so I imagine that 'everyone' includes me. Let me therefore say that I am very sad to be deprived of the company of such an amusing and amiable editor, who was kind and generous to his colleagues and spared no effort to keep them cheerful.
