Chivalry revived

Sir: The High Court of Chivalry revived in 1955 (Peter Levi, Books, 24 January) to try an issue between Manchester Corporation and the Manchester Palace of Varieties Ltd, who had abused the Corporation's arms, crest and supporters. The Court found for the Corporation. The Court is the subject of a learned and entertaining book by G.D. Squibb QC, published by the Oxford University Press in 1959.
