9. Paternal Advice, chiefly to Young . Men on Entering into
Lffe, is a little volume. of maxims after the manner of our ancestors. It consists of venerable aphorisms, which repeat in various forms the folly of wickedness and the beauty of virtue. Biographical anecdotes are also introduced, which have the same tendency. We cannot flatter the author that his work is calculated to do much good, though it may harmonize with the views and thoughts of some, and be occasionally referred to with pleasure. It is of the size of h snuffbox of small dimensions.
