Betjeman's famous poem 'Phone for the fish-knives, Norman' didn't deal with the garden, an area in which snobbery apparently can be rampant (see David Cannadine's views on Sissinghurst). You are invited to write a poem (maximum 16 lines) dealing with the U and non-U in the gardener's world. Entries to 'Competition No. 1831' by 19 May.
