More on Marcuse
Sir: In your Personal Column last week you published a review by me of Professor Paul Robinson's The Sexual Radicals. Had I seen a proof of the review. I would have deleted those words in it that attribute to Professor Herbert Marcuse 'a streak of the Nazi'; they go too far, and I should like to withdraw them.
Had space permitted, I would also have added in the proof a con- cluding paragraph, to the effect that, though Marcuse's `sexual revolution' is a chimera, the 'sexual radicalism' that he preaches may well, through its effect upon the young, help to disintegrate so- ciety as it now exists in the United States. And this, of course, is just what he sets out to do.
