article on the 'Establishment,' apart from Lady Violet Bon- ham Carter's indictment with its tweedy brogue and Mr. Sparrow's peevish squeak. - There is no doubt about the existence of the 'Establishment.' It is a power in the land, pos- sibly the power in the land. Mr. Fairlie sums it up with almost Orwell clarity. It can be seen at work, now and then, by standing on tiptoe from just beyond the pale.
