John Kenyon Winterbottom, once the most flourishing solicitor in Stockport,
has been captured. He was charged in 1839 with forgery on a London insurance-company ; he fled ; and his defalcations were discovered to be immense. On Thursday evening, he was met in Man- chester, and recognized, by William Paine, a man who sings at public- houses. Paine had a companion, who advised him to secure the reward of 200/. that had been offered. They chased the fugitive, and, after a long hunt, seized him as he lay crouched behind a farm-house.
