Sir: The photographer who was killed during the attack on Greenpeace's Rain- bow Warrior was not Portuguese but Dutch. He was a descendant of one of the numerous Portuguese Jewish families who were expelled from Portugal in 1496, many of whom fled to Amsterdam.
