A prospectus has been issued of the Luckimpore Tea Company
of Assam, with a capital of £150,000 in £10 shares. The object is to purchase the plantations owned by/Messrs. Williamson and Lyell, covering 11,000 acres,. of which 1,250 acres are under cul- tivation, at a price of £112,000. The vendors guarantee a divi- dend of 10 per cent. for three years, and state that the average outturn of their estates is 400113s. of tea per acre, yielding a profit of about a shilling a pound. They will themselves take shares to the extent of one-fourth of the purchase, and many of the managers also become shareholders.
