.Ifernorandum.—With reference to the memorandum, dated Horse Guards, April 25, which appeared in the Gazette of the 1st of May last, the undermentioned officers of the East India Company's service have brevet rank in the Army, as follows- Brevet-Major H. A. Lake Madras Engineers, to be Lieut.-Col. in the Army. Lieut.- Col. T. F. Tait, C.B. Bengal Army, and Lieue-Col. W. Mayne, Bengal Array, to be Alden-do-camp to the Queen, with the rank of Col. in the Army.
Erratum in the Gazette of 23d Oct.-- For Major and Brevet-Lieut.-Col. G. Talbot, 43d Foot, to be Deputy-Quartermaster-Gen. to the Queen's Troops serving in Ma- &as, with the rank of Colonel in the Army, read Major and Brevet-Lieut.-Col. G. Talbot, 43d Foot, to be Deputy-Quartermaster-Gen. to the Queen's Troops serving in Madras, omitting the rank of Colonel, this Staff appointment not carrying that rank.
