Mr. Rosee, the Member for Penryn and Falmouth, was appointed
to the office of Solicitor-General, just in time for the opening of the present term. The delay which arose in making this appointment, is attributed to some disagreement between the Chancellor and Lord MiLsouttNE. Mr. COLTMAN, it is said, was the nominee of the former ; but Mr. ROLFE'S vote in Parliament compensated for the want of high legal reputation. It is, however, a matter of doubt, whether he will be reelected : the Tories threaten him with an active opposition from his former antagonist, Mr. FRESHFIELD.
