From Eric Dehn Sir: David Gardner (Plain Hinglish', 2 August) maintained that Indians are 'impeccably logical' in their mastery of our phraseology. I am not quite sure whether this is disproved or confirmed by the reply of a teacher in Delhi when I asked him how he was faring. 'I cannot make both my ends meet,' he told me.
