The History, Position, and Treatment of the Public Records of
Ireland. By an Irish Archivist. (J. Russell Smith.)—A slashing attack on the two volumes of a calendar of the Irish State Papers which were pub- lished by Mr. Morrin, a clerk in one of the Dublin Law Courts, under the authority of the Government. The archivist accuses him of plagiarism and the very grossest blunders, supporting his assertions by columns of parallel passages, and references to the calendars them- selves, as well as to authorities on which he relies for the refutation of Mr. Morrin. Certainly the work for which the public pays should be entrusted to competent hands.
