Enoch in Oppositeland

Sir: I am grateful to you and to Mr Levy for carrying further and with greater authority (2 July) some of the impressions in my Times article.

I am only puzzled that Mr Levy, who (if! may borrow his expression) 'knows so much while knowing so little' about me, could say that I came to Russia 'presumably to scoff'.

Your true nationalist does not visit other nations in order to scoff. He does not even scoff at real or alleged nations in posse, as nationalist Members of the bench below mine in the House of Commons would, I hope, confirm.
